Happy Birthday to the Double D's
Dang,
I was hoping to beat everyone else in getting this on the website so that it didn't detract from the other great blogs. Anyway, I just wanted to wish Doug and Dylan happy birthday's tomorrow and tell everyone to go and see what I wrote about how great I think they are on my family website. So anyway, Happy Birthday Doug and Dylan. We love you!
Happy Birthday Dylan!!!!
Okay, we don't have the Daddy almost didn't make it too the hospital in time stories, but your birth was just as much a miracle. I never thought I could love someone or feel the love from someone as much as I did with Steven-but found out that is just not true!! The love I felt was just as strong and amazing!! The minute I got to see you I just cried-you were perfect and still are.
My precious angel-my baby boy.
Our baby boy you will always be-no matter how old you get. We love you more than words, thoughts, or ideas could imagine!!

Is it over yet?
1. They are a great source of contention. And no matter how anyone tries to tell you they're not "trying to start an argument" or "not telling you you're wrong" when they express their points of view, it still pushes my buttons and I feel all kinds of anxiety and frustration when discussing them, or when I listen to others discuss them. I simply prefer to live free of that spirit when I can.
2. I have a hard time trusting politicians. I personally feel that each election year we are presented with two evils, and it is our duty to choose the lesser one. And the candidates just get worse as the years go by. Few politicians are completely honest. I don't think Obama or McCain are perfect candidates, and they're certainly not honest or consistent men. They make promises to win approval, and I'm certain they will never follow through with all of them.
3. Our country is becoming more and more divided. It seems any more that you are very liberal or very conservative, which makes even more room for disagreement, anger and hard feelings.
Initially I was a Mitt Romney fan, because I felt he was the best representative of truth, consistency, faith in God (which is extremely important to me, especially if you're a politician), and patriotism.
When, McCain put Sarah Palin on his ticket. I was appalled and a bit disgusted at first, because I recognized that move as a sign of desperation to compete with the novelty of a first-time black American candidate. Then I did research on her, and I was surprisingly impressed. Her values, her record, her personal life all represented what I felt was important. She is a woman that gets things done, that follows through on her promises, that holds her family sacred, who enjoys hunting and the great outdoors, that sees our country as a source of highly valuable natural resources. Her stance on political issues won me over.
I agree with McCain and Palin's plan for ecological independence. I agree with keeping our troops in Iraq until the war is won, not backing out to appease the popular liberal idea. I am pro-life. I like my guns and I have the right to use them, and McCain supports that. I want our borders protected. I think everyone should have to legally become U.S. citizens before they can enjoy the rights and privileges associated with citizenship. I agree with his desire to reform the current education program before throwing more money into a new one.
And finally, I just feel in my gut that he's the better candidate, the lesser evil, if you will. I shouldn't have to explain that to anyone. When I look at Obama and McCain and everything that they stand for individually, I see John McCain as the better patriot.
I know George Bush hasn't been popular for a while, but I will say one thing about him. He has stuck by his convictions in this war and I am thankful every day that it was him in the White House when our country was attacked. Not Al Gore, whose personal agenda has always been more important to him than that of this country. And I'm grateful John Kerry didn't win in the last elections, because quite frankly, he terrified me.
I don't want Obama to win because he is backed by the media and Hollywood. And the media and Hollywood are liberal - everyone knows this - and contrast highly most, if not all, things I believe in. I do believe he is intelligent, an eloquent speaker, and he handled himself very well in the final debate. But he is inexperienced, his convictions seem shallow to me, and I think the only reason he is where he is now is because he is a novelty.
Now, if you want to argue these points, feel free to do so on your OWN BLOG and let me know about it. Any negative, rude, or argumentative comments left in response to this post will be deleted by the author (that's me). Your blog is a place where you are free to exercise your freedom of speech, NOT my blog.

Tiny Dancer
Yesterday Kennedy started her ballet class. She was so excited to wear the ballet shoes and the dress that I wondered if she would really even like class. I was a little worried when I took her to class thinking she would cry. She hates nursery, refuses to go to pre-school and will only stay with a handful of people when I need a sitter.
When we got to class she ran into the studio and never looked back. I knew from previous experiences that it's never that easy. When I went to pick her up her teacher said she did great until the last little part. Then she was looking for me and didn't want to participate anymore. Little stinker. But, her teacher says keep her in class it's good for her and she will get the hang of it. So for now we are keeping her in but you may want to check back this is a To Be Continued.

Next is my favorite room in the house which would be our living room with our new sectional couch and 50" tv that we worked very hard for.
Up next is your favortie item in the kitchen and right now I do not have a real favorite kitchen tool I use but I really like our kitchen clock and the flowers Nick got me the other day :)

Rachel sent this photo tag to me, so I am passing it on. Laura, it is your turn.
Before I start - I need to make a disclaimer. We use chargeable batteries for our camera and for about a week now EVERY SINGLE ONE of my batteries were dead, so here I am doing this as soon as I got the batteries charged.
First, you need to take a picture of what your child (In Laura's case - your puppies) is doing right now.
Katelyn and I decided to make Halloween cookies so we could go and "Boo" people in our neighborhood, so here is Katelyn decorating cookies.
Then, your favorite item in your kitchen.
My Pampered Chef Garlic Press - okay lets be honest, anything Pampered Chef is my favorite, but I use this a TON! I love garlic and it is in most of my dinners!
Next, your favorite shoes.
I love shoes period, but my favorites are anything that I would consider "sexy". Here are just a few that I currently own. Can't wait until it's cool enough to wear my boots again!
Almost done-your next picture should be a picture of you.
Okay, Katelyn's in this one too, but like I said - this is what we were doing when I got the batteries charged again.
And finally, your favorite room.
My favorite room is my family room. I know it's dumb, but we spend the majority of our time in this room and I love my entertainment center. It's the one piece of furniture that I've always wanted and finally got and I love it!
Now it's your turn Laura. Keep it going-it is really fun!!

Really a Happy Birthday?
Unfortunately, on Steven's birthday, his loving mother scheduled an EEG, sorry!! They put 24 electrodes on Steven's head and 2 on his chest. It was not bad until they had to rip them off-OUCH!!
After we went to have Sushi, per Steven's reguest, and he loved the experience. We all had good food and a really good time.
Happy Birthday Steven
Our first baby boy is getting older-wow!! This morning as you ,Steven, were talking to your Dad and then Grammy/Poppy on the phone it dawned on me how grown up you are getting. I have to admit it makes me sad, but at the same time makes me proud.
I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. I was excited that you were coming into the world, but your Dad was not in town so I was also scared. Your Dad got to the hospital in time and we could never have imagined what we would have felt next. The minute you were born we both understood what unconditional love meant.
You make us so proud daily!! On your birthday we just wish you happiness and love. With that everything is possible.

Photo Tag
Heather sent this photo tag to me, so I am passing it on. Katie, it is your turn.
First, you need to take a picture of what your child Katelyn is doing right now.
As you can see, as soon as I got off the computer my boys got on.
Then, your favorite item in your kitchen.
MY CALENDER. Without it I would be lost!! I know it is not a kitchen item, but it is in my kitchen and it gets more use then anything else.
Next, your favorite shoes.
My favorite shoes are my Avia's. Until I got these my feet would hurt so bad at night I could barely walk on them sometimes. As you know I don't sit still very often so I needed some good shoes I guess.
Almost done-your next picture should be a picture of you.
As you can see I took my picture right then. Beautiful morning head and face!!
And finally, your favorite room.
My favorite room would be my bathroom because that is where my bathtub is at. I don't take nearly enough, but I love a bubble bath while reading my favorite book.
Now it's your turn Katie. Keep it going-it is really fun!!
