More Camping

I can sleep anywhere!!

This picture was actually taken a couple weeks ago-I'm a little behind-sorry. I had removed all of our furniture out of our living room so the carpets could be cleaned. Surprise-surprise Steven and Dylan would not stop jumping/climbing on the furniture, that was now in the kitchen, so I told them they had to sit on the floor. Dylan found this foot stool/storage box and decided to sit in it to watch tv. I came back in the room minutes later and found him sound asleep in it. He was not a happy camper when he woke up.

Components To Fix It TV News Spot

Do you not just love this - we finally made it on TV. They were supposed to air this today, but we found out that they actually aired it a couple of days ago. I will admit that it turned out pretty well, but you can ask Heather about all the mental anguish it caused me!

Kennedy goes to preschool, what!!

I was hesitant to add this to the blog since its seems I do quite a bit of the postings. But, after several askers I am posting Kennedy's first day of preschool. Doesn't she look cute? It made me sad how grown up she is getting, it's not right. She wanted to take Paige to school with her so I let Paige come along for the ride but had to explain that dogs cant go to preschool. I thought she would cry but as soon as she saw the other kids lined up she looked at me and said "bye mom" and off she went.
Today was another story. This was the second day and she didn't exactly want to go. She told me she wanted to go to lunch with her dad. I told her if she was good when she was done I would call dad and see if he could go. I don't think it helped too much she still was crying when I left. But she has such a kind teacher, I don't worry. She will be fine. It was also show and tell today, she wanted to bring her "man movie" (Toy Story).

Go Rachel, It's Your Birthday!

Two birthdays in just two days! But this one is special. Rachel you were your father's birthday gift and what a great one. Now it's time to list just why we all love our sister Rachel.
R- Rachel helps everyone. I often tease her and tell her she is the neighborhood mother in the summers. Its like all the kids flock to her. Every time we drive past her house Kennedy cries because she wants to go see Aunt Rachel.

A- Always on the go. Either running errands, doing laundry, making dinner or working two jobs Rachel works her tail off to get things done. Dedicated yes, crazy just a little.

C- Call Rachel and she will be there. I can personally attest to this. It seems Rachel has been with me at some of the most important times in my life (Perhaps some I want not to remember like the time I almost miscarried with Kennedy) she is a very calm person when it comes to support.

H- Heck, the lady can plan a party like no other. Down to the last napkin she will have it planned. I never worry when I know Rachel is in charge of a get together.

E- Everyone's friend. Rachel seems to make friends with everyone. She is easy to talk to and can find something in common with just about anyone.

L- Lucky to have you in our lives. Happy Birthday Rachel. We love you!

My Beautiful Daughter

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Rachel, happy birthday to you!!" Now imagine me singing this to you. I know you think I forgot but ironically(??) woke up just about at your birth time and decided to honor you:)
I was blessed in the fact you survived your first several months as a newborn and am more so today to call you daughter!! You are a strong, charismatic and loving person and a fantastic Mom to your two sons.
I thank God you were so strong in order to live and be such a vital part of the Evan's family. My life would not be the same without you part of it.
I wish you many more birthdays to attain all your goals in life especially that of becoming an elementary teacher. I know you are most capable of achieving this goal and many kids would benefit from you doing so.
Love and hugs always.

Happy Birthday Dad

Happy Birthday Dad!! Just why is today such a special day, well it's your birthday and you are one of a kind. How could we love you more? Here are just a few of the reasons we love you so very much.
If you ever need a hand dad is your man. Call and he will be there, even if he has to drop everything he is doing.

He loves his kids, but I think he loves his grand kids just as much and its so fun to see them together, he is just one of the kids.

Dad is a frugal man. I know we all give him a hard time about it but seriously he gets his moneys worth out of whatever he has. Refer to photo one, I think he still has those sunglasses.

He has a great sense of humor and can think up some hilarious practical jokes. We can all attest to this, um Bryce you were a victim this last weekend and Jason I think you were too!

All in all we just love you dad and hope your birthday is a special one.

New home Update

So we have been looking and looking for houses and finally found the one we really love and will fit us perfectly. It is in Queen Creek on just east of Ironwood on Ocotillo. It is 2154 sq ft one story with 3 car garage. It has 4 bedrooms, an arizona room, a gazebo and a pretty good size backyard (nothing like Heather & Dougs tho). I dont have pictures of the inside but here is the outside. We are to close on or around September 11th!!!!

Kennedy's New & Improved Room

A few weeks ago Doug and I went to Home Depot to buy paint for Kennedy's play room. Instead it turned into lets paint her bedroom. It was kind of fun and Doug really likes to mix and match colors. He picked here theme.
I love her curtains, they are so girl yet classy and they go with the room so well. We did buy her bedroom furniture but we returned it so she is still in her crib until we can make a decision on what we like.
Doug painted the room as he always does, so professionally it looks awesome, he even did the stars and they look perfect. The accents are not done but I have an idea of what I want to do. It needs a few things for her shelves and I need to put photos in the frames.
My friend does vinyl lettering and printed the I am like a star shining brightly as well as the Kennedy lettering for her wall. Its so cute, I just love it. The photos dont really do it justice but it gives you an idea. Seeing it in person is even better.

Back to School for Kate the Great

It's the first day of 5th grade. I'm not sure who's more happy about that Katelyn or me. While it's been a great summer and in many way's I'm sad to see it end, school brings some great changes as well. The first and most important for an only child is the daily getting to hang with your friends. Mom is fun, but hey we all know that friends are a lot more fun!

It seems the older she gets the less fuss I'm allowed to make over the first day of school. The hairdo is casual and it's more important that the clothes be cool than cute. Only because I made her was I even allowed to take a few pictures.

And when we got to the bus stop it was just "so embarrassing". But as you can see from the pictures themselves, I wasn't the only "embarrassing mom" around, so I guess that was good.

I just can't believe that you only have 2 more years in elementary school. Wow has the time flown by. I still remember the first day of preschool and then even the first day of Kindergarten when I chased the school bus both ways. Ah well, memories! Have a great year Kate the Great. Enjoy your year with Mrs. Sanders.

Just Why We Love Raven Drive

When Doug and I decided to move a little over a year and a half ago all I prayed for was to have good neighbors. Well, I couldn't have asked for better. What a blessing that both my neighbors are in my ward AND we all have little girls with in months of each other. I love that we can call on each other for favors of any kind. Its fun to get together with our husbands and ride quads, go to dinner or get some ice cream. Its such a good mix of personalities we never want for conversation or laughter. I really appreciate all they do for us and the good friends they are. Not to mention the girls, I LOVE that Kennedy has friends she can play with that are her age. I know as these girls grow they will be good friends and I for one and okay with that. Aren't they the cutest!

Showing Their Stuff

School started this week and the boys were so excited to get to wear their new ECKO clothing. So here they are showing off their stuff-even though their hands are covering the shirts. I don't understand!! :)'
